Hi beauties! So sorry it’s been so long, I have had a hectic month, between being sick twice and renovating my house I’ve hardly had time to pause and sip on my coffee, let alone tackle the huge pile of products that has been piling up in my beauty room – don’t worry it all ends now! I promise to post more from now on.

I have been dying to share these Sally Hansen Spring shades with you all!! The Complete Salon Manicure line introduces 6 NEW shades by Madeline Poole, their Global Colour Ambassador, as well as 6 NEW stunning Miracle Gel shades- yay!

FUN FACT: Did you know that Canada has the biggest selection of Miracle Gel shades in the entire world?! That’s right, we now have 72 gorgeous shades to choose from. Although I will only be sharing 6 today, I think that having a well-rounded gel polish line is amazing!

I’m also super excited to share that their Complete Salon Manicure line is now infused with Keratin Complex! Ladies, I have to tell you that this formula is AH-MAZING. Seriously, if you weren’t a huge Sally Hansen fan before you’re going to want to try these, it just might change your mind. This new formula claims to deliver 64% stronger nails and up to 10 days of chip-resistant wear. You already know I had to test that theory out, so I wore Grace Shell-y throughout a week of work, renovation, dishes, showers, etc. The end result? Only slight wear at the tips. That’s insane for a non-gel polish!

“Sally Hansen Complete Salon ManicureTM boasts 7 benefits in one bottle, plus a flawless-finish brush for easy application and a salon-quality finish. The chip-resistant polish still features all of the elements you know and love: base coat, strengthener now featuring keratin complex, growth treatment, salon colour in runway-ready shades, top coat, and gel shine finish.”

Let’s check out Madeline Poole‘s additions to the Sally Hansen’s CSM line for Spring ’16:

As for Miracle Gel, I’ve always been skeptical of “UV-free at home Gel Systems” but the beauty of the Miracle Gel range is that once its paired with the Miracle Gel 2X Top Coat (as it should be), it instantly volumizes and protects your manicure, creating dramatically fuller-looking nails with a high-gloss, mirror shine finish. Not to mention chip-resistant.

“The look of a gel manicure at home, without the trip to a salon! Miracle Gel’s simple application takes just two steps. First, apply two thin coats of Miracle Gel colour to clean, bare nails. Then, apply one coat of the new Miracle Gel Top Coat. Natural light does the rest, creating a manicure that resembles a UV / LED cured gel polish and up to 14 days of colour and shine. The next best thing to a salon gel manicure, without using an UV / LED light AND removes easily with regular nail polish remover.”

Here are 6 new additions to the Miracle Gel range:

I just want to mention again that everyones nails are different- what works for me may work in a completely different way for you. Everyones nails are made up of different chemistry as per our bodies. Some are more prone to chipping and splitting than others.

Both lines hit shelves in January 2016, CSM for a suggested retail price of $9.50 and Miracle Gel for a suggested retail price of $11.95. They are available at pharmacies and mass retailers across Canada.

Check out sallyhansen.com for more information, and don’t forget to follow them at @sallyhansenca.

You can also follow their Global Colour Ambassador at @mpnails and mpnails.com – trust me you will not be disappointed!

Hi loves, I wanted to share the essie 2016 Resort Collection with you guys today and I must say that this collection is GORGEOUS!

image1

Before we get started here’s the PR excerpt to give you a little insight:

“Opulent silks. Saturated Hues. Dazzling ornamentation. This Resort season is influence by the magnificent fashion, diverse culture and sheer beauty of India. Jaipur and the taj-ma-haul to the vibrant saris at a monsoon wedding twirling during a delhi dance, there’s no end to the inspiration that gives life to essie color.

The country’s unique contract of tradition and modernism, the old alongside the new, invigorates mind, body and soul – everyone must be going guru. On the cutting edge art and commerce, India’s cities are an exhilirating rush of flavors, sights and fragrances – it captures the imagination and tantalizes the senses.

The colorful market stalls. The golden sands of the deserts. The azure waters of the western coast. India’s landscape is as beautiful and varied as its people, and its influence on global style and fashion is constantly energizing the collections of the world’s most beloved designers. Any visitor will be begging to nama-stay the night. The vivid pattern-play of today and intricate palette of spendid inspiration. It’s sure to be the trip of a lifetime.”

resort going guru

‘going guru’ meditative mint lime “Omm! In this meditative mint lime I may have actually discovered fashion nirvana” I freaking love this shade! If only the formula was up to par. Very thick, and globs easily with two coats. That being said, it’s such a gorg shade that I’m willing to let the formula slide…

resort dehli dance

‘delhi dance’ silky sari pink “They’re playing your song! Slip on this silky sari pink and hit the dance floor like a Bollywood superstar” With a stunning two-coat crème formula this shade is sure to please! (Beware that it photographs differently) while it is a bubble gum pink there’s a certain “dusty” tone to it.

resort namastay the night

‘nama-stay the night’ energetic Goa blue “Up all night? (wink, wink.) When you’re with this energetic Goa blue, sleep has nothing to do with it” Probably my least favourite of these four (I know, but I’m not a fan of blue) The formula is great, it levels with two plump coats… and the shade is pretty, too!

resort tajmahaul

‘taj-ma-haul’ spicy marigold apricot “When you score this spicy marigold apricot, your shopping artistry becomes a wonder of the world” Okay, I LOVE this shade!! Not only is the formula amazing, this dusty apricot is one-of-a-kind… and I kind of can’t stop wearing it.

The Resort Collection will officially be available as of March 29 in salons, drugstores and other beauty destinations across Canada. (Although you have seen pictures floating around for the past month because of some naughty rule-breaking people.. I also heard it’s available at Ulta.com in the US).

IMO, this whole collection is a must-have! Which shades will you be picking up?

Hi guys! Wow, I can’t believe it’s February already… where does the time go!? I feel like it was New Years just yesterday. Anyway, today I wanted to share with you guys my review on Perfect Formula nail products, namely their Pink Gel Coat and Gel Coat Colors.

image1

I’m sure many of you have seen/heard about the infamous Pink Gel Coat. It claims to strengthen and brighten your nails while creating a sheer pink protein rich coating. It also seals and protects your natural nails so they can grow strong and long (um, yes please)! I’m currently still testing out the Pink Gel Coat as I wanted to give it time to work and deliver results but so far it seems to have protected and mended my nails. Huge essential during the colder, drier months! Way to go, Shari!

I was also lucky enough to be sent two Gel Coat Colors in Powder Pink and Light Taupe, which are lovely soft shades, perfect for anytime of the year. (I will swatch Powder Pink for you guys once I remove my Pink Gel Coat)

The great thing about these is that you don’t need a Base or Top Coat, you just apply straight onto clean, dry nails and you’re good to go! The formula is enriched with Keratin to create a thick, protein-packed coating that instantly seals, strengthens and protects your natural nails. I mean, who doesn’t want a formula that helps their nails grow long, strong, healthy and beautiful? I’m obsessing over Light Taupe as it gives the look of clean, neutral nails, plus it adds temporary thickness. These shades remove easily with any nail polish remover and it is recommended to remove the polish and re-apply once a week for full benefits. Check out the swatch below:

image1

Light Taupe | I love this shade! It applies flawlessly with two coats and I’m amazed at how much shine it gives without a Top Coat. I would definitely recommend it as a long-lasting, high shine and quick-drying polish.

Overall, I’m very impressed with their formula. Gel Coat Polishes are a great alternative to regular polish, especially if you want an all in one formula! I may have to figure out a may to get my hands on more colours!

Perfect Formula Nail Essentials are available at perfectformulas.com and select retailers. In Canada they are available at Sephora.

Have any of you tried their Pink Gel Coat or other products? I’d love to know!

Hi loves! It’s been (and still is) an odd, long Winter so I know a lot of you are dying to get your hands on some much deserved fresh new shades! The essie Spring 2016 collection will give you just that. With a mix of vibrant, fresh corals, neutrals and a forest green these colour pairings are unexpected to say the least… To be honest with you all when I first laid eyes on this collection I was a little underwhelmed, which totally sucked because 2015 was such a stellar year for essie. I felt like these colours were borderline boring and not Spring enough. I mean, where are all the pastels at!? That being said, once applied I changed my opinion – there are definitely some coup-de-coeur’s hidden in this bunch!

image1

“This season, the runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris are filled… with jets. That’s right, from Heathrow to JFK, fashionistas and discerning travelers are packing up and taking off to the same place: Florida. With so many luxurious destinations to choose from, Florida offers every shade of fun in paradise. When Spring arrives, it’s impossible to resist the call of the beach – you really only have two options: head to the Sunshine State or if you can’t get away, try to cultivate a sunshine state of mind. Like the sun, fashion burns hotter in Florida. The six shades in essie’s newest collection reflect the spirit of Spring in chic retreats like Palm Beach. Striking the perfect balance between fashion forward and retro-glamour, this collection is bold, bright and up for anything. Splurge on a luxe resort? Of course. pool side service while you chat up the nearest lounge lover? Yes – that is definitely a do. It’s a high class affair and you’re on vacation, so live in the sun-drenced moment.”

Now that you’ve read the PR excerpt, let’s get to swatching!

image6

‘high class affair’ an amorous blush nude, I found this shade to be flesh-like and it took three coats to even out. Being so pale myself, I’m lucky that it has enough peach in it to balance it out. I’ve yet to see another essie in this shade, the closest I can think of is ‘perennial chic’ from last years Spring Collection.

image5

‘lounge lover’ pretty pink peach. I absolutely love this shade, it’s bright, fun and screams SPRING. The formula is great, too- can you believe that this is one coat!?

image2

‘sunshine state of mind’ blazing coral tangelo. I wasn’t sure about this one in the bottle but once applied it becomes a scorching hot coral! (Think neon minus the crappy formula) Again, this is ONE coat.

image1

‘shades on’ mysterious deep violet. A pretty shade, don’t get me wrong but I find it very blah… but I know a lot of you will love this one regardless! The formula is super, and opaque with one coat.

image4

‘poolside service’ refreshing cerulean blue. LOVE!! I think this is a great choice for Spring. Very transitional, and stunning! The formula is A+.

image3

‘off tropic’ lush grove green. This colour is AH-MAZING, but would better be suited in a Fall/Winter collection IMO. It reminds me of a mix between ‘stylenomics’ and ‘going incognito’.

My picks? ‘lounge lover’, ‘sunshine state of mind’ and ‘pool side service’. I honestly love ‘off tropic’ but don’t really see myself wearing it much during Spring. Do you guys want to see any comparisons? I’m also thinking of doing a giveaway for this collection, so let me know if you’d be interested!

The Spring 2016 Collection will be available as of February 16, 2016 in salons, drugstores and other beauty destinations across Canada. I’d love to know your thoughts on the essie Spring 2016 collection!

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share with you all the Hello Kitty Collection by OPI (In stores as of January 2016). This collection contains 12 super cute limited edition shades which are available as regular polish and as GelColor.OPI-Hello-KittyPress Release:

“She’s a global symbol of friendship and fun. She made cuteness a culture in Japan and a fashion imperative everywhere.  Hello Kitty® is a pop icon with fans ranging from four to forever, and she is OPI’s newest muse. Hello Kitty by OPI celebrates all things happy, cute, colorful and sweet with 12 limited-edition nail lacquers and matching GelColor shades. “Hello Kitty generates happiness in a way that really resonates here at OPI, because we are seeking to do the same thing with color as our medium,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder & Brand Ambassador. “We wanted to infuse this collection with all the charm and playfulness of its namesake,” adds Weiss-Fischmann, “Together with their names, these lacquers capture Hello Kitty’s world to perfection, and of course, many of the colors also echo runway trends we’ve seen for 2016.   Think delicious pinks, punchy primaries, pearly white and licorice black.” Indeed, OPI and Hello Kitty enthusiasts will face a candy store dilemma – which to choose from among Hello Kitty by OPI sweet and glittering pinks, bright reds, shimmering white shades, and more, for a limited time”

Hello Kitty by OPI
image2

Kitty White | Pearl-of-a-girl white For someone who doesn’t like glitter or lots of shimmer I actually really like this one! It’s delicate, girly and you’re good to go with one coat! I also tried layering this one over other shades and it looked amaze.

image1

Charmmy & Sugar | Sparkly Pink for Pretty Pets This shade is like a medley of glitter/holo chunks and I’m loving it! It’s the epitome of Hello Kitty’s cuteness all bundled into one bottle. This is one coat but it looks equally as awesome layered.

image4

Let’s Be Friends! | This Cotton Candy Pink is my new Bestie What a gorgeous palate cleanser! Only downside is that it apply streaky if you don’t allow enough dry time between coats. That being said, this may be my favourite. It reminds me slightly of the OG essie ‘fiji’ formula.

image2

Look at My Bow! | This sweet-girl pink sits right at the top A cute mauve pink, I found this one to have a very thin formula with one coat, but two coats does the trick! What do you think? Isn’t she pretty?

image1

Small + Cute = ♥ | Do the math… This baby pink is perfect I couldn’t agree more! This is such a sheer, delicate and feminine pink! LOVE. One coat gives a soft girly hue, while two literally gives the perfect baby pink.

image5

Spoken From The Heart | I have deep feelings for this pretty coral Another thin formula but the colour is gorgeous! Who doesn’t appreciate a great coral?

image4

Starry-eyed For Dear Daniel | You will just love this fun pink super-glitter I do love it! This is one coat, and its jam-packed full of glitter. It kind of reminds me of those arts & crafts glitter bottles. Very fitting for this collection.

image3

Super Cute In Pink | The pinker, the better One can never have enough pink polishes. I have seen other swatches of this shade looking more *pink* but this is how it shows on my nails- almost highlighter purple. The formula is great, no streakiness.

image1

My Twin Mimmy | This sunny yellow is twice as nice I looove a great yellow polish every now and then and this is just that! Also an A+ for looking decent against my skin tone.

image2

5 Apples Tall | This apple red really measures up Another thin formula, as most reds usually are. Nothing stand out about this one. Your average red shade.

image3

My Pal Joey | This true blue is always there for you A tried and true cobalt blue that applies evenly and opaquely in one coat? I’ll take it.

image5

Never Have Too Mani Friends | Let’s “ink” a date for our next manicure Last but not least, your typical black shade… I can appreciate a darker hue being thrown in this bright mix & really, you can never have enough black polish.

Overall I really like this collection, the super cute pinks and glitters are what drew me in to begin with but it has just the right amount of edginess. I think it’s a perfect transitional collection to bring us from dark Winter hues to bright pops of colour for Spring… and who can resist Hello Kitty?

So now that you’ve seen them all, which ones will you be picking up? My personal favourites are Charmmy & Sugar, Let’s Be Friends! and My Twin Mimmy.
